Summit in Astana allows to clearly affirm commitments of OSCE member states in combating human trafficking
ASTANA. November 27. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The Summit in Astana allows to clearly affirm commitments of the OSCE participating states in combating human trafficking. On behalf of the European Union a delegate from Hungary has announced it at the OSCE Review Conference.
"Children represent 40-50 percent of all victims of human trafficking in the world. This shows that the current systems of children's protection are very important for prevention of trafficking in children and protection of vulnerable and exploited children", the delegate said.
He noted that the European Union pays great attention to prevention and struggle against human trafficking as well as protection and rendering assistance to victims. This work is one of the priorities of the EU programs.
According to him, many children in the OSCE region are victims of human trafficking, hence it is important to spread information on this issue, including among children.
