Supreme Mufti congratulates Orthodox Christians on Easter
"On behalf of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan and myself I congratulate you and all Orthodox Kazakhstanis on the most important Orthodox holiday - Easter. Originating in ancient times, this holiday gives Orthodox believers joy and hope, inspired to do good deeds and actions. According to the Noble Qur'an, Prophet Jesus (peace upon him) was one of Allah's most beloved messengers, a precursor to Prophet Muhammad and was sent to guide the Children of Israel. The Holy Qur'an describing the life of the Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace upon him) a separate chapter - sura "The Chapter of Maryam (Mary, mother of Jesus). His life and work are deeply revered by all Muslims. Orthodoxy in Kazakhstan, as well as Islam, plays a significant role in the history of our state and nourishes national culture. Our two religions, in the figurative expression of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, are like two wings maintaining civil peace and accord in society. Religious holidays promote the enhancement of spiritual wealth of the Kazakhstan people. Kazakhstan established accord of inter-religious and intercultural relations, warm and cordial relationship between the representatives of all traditional religions that co-exist peacefully in our country," the message reads. The Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan wished well-being and prosperity to all Orthodox Christians of Kazakhstan.
