Survey reveals high level of trust in President among Kazakhstanis
The Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS) announced the findings of the sociological survey, summarizing the results of the outgoing year, levels of trust in the President as well as support of the strategic course of development of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
The phone survey, which involved a total of 1,200 respondents, reveals that 66.2% Kazakhstanis end the 2024 year with a good spirit and sense of optimism. Despite the global challenges, including arms conflicts in the neighboring countries and the Middle East, the residents of Kazakhstan are positive about the outgoing year on a personal level, especially the youth and high-income groups.
The survey shows a more restrained attitude towards the perception of the year on country and world levels, as rural residents, pensioners and low-income citizens were more likely to report difficulties. Respondents with vocational education and high-income were more positive on the national level, said Gulnaz Kassimova, chief expert in the public opinion monitoring department at the KazISS.
The level of trust in the President remains steadily high at 80.5% among 8,000 respondents, reaching 86.4% among the youth. Women and high-income groups also showed the high level of trust in the President.
77.7% of all respondents demonstrated their support of the political course of Kazakhstan in 2024, welcoming both domestic and foreign policy decisions of the country’s leadership, added Kassimova.
