Switzerland proposed to organize first flight of solar plane into stratosphere

During the visit Zhoshybayev carried out bilateral meetings with the leadership of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), Presence Switzerland and Switzerland Tourism agencies, as well as Swiss companies operating in the field of renewable energy. At the talks with the head of the agency Presence Switzerland Ambassador Nicolas Bideau, FDFA secretary general B.Bettih and director of the Switzerland Tourism on new markets and Eurasia F.Sommaruga, Commissioner R. Zhoshybayev gave details on the preparation for "EXPO-2017". Mr. Bideau expressed interest in Switzerland's participation in the exhibition in Astana. The parties also discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, the involvement of Swiss tourists at "EXPO-2017", and the forthcoming official visit of the President of Switzerland, the OSCE Chairman D.Burkhalter to Kazakhstan. At a meeting with the director of Switzerland Tourism on new markets and Eurasia F.Sommaruga and Vice President of Zurich Airport AG M.Fankhauzer, the sides expressed interest in boosting collaboration in tourism. In addition, the exhibition's commissioner discussed issues of partnership with the leadership of Solar Impulse and Solarstratos which develop and produce solar-powered aircraft. In particular, the president of Solar Impulse B.Pikkar presented the first solar-powered aircraft which will fly around the world in 2015. B.Pikkar noted that this event may be a promising image project in anticipation of the exhibition in Astana. Chairman of Solarstratos R.Domzhan proposed to organize within the Expo the first flight of a solar plane into the stratosphere in 2017. Moreover, the company presented the new type of solar panels, which are colorless. Following the talks, the sides agreed to consider the possibility of joint cooperation for the implementation of these initiatives in the framework of "EXPO 2017". Recall that "EXPO-2017" will be held in Kazakhstan from June 10 to September 10, 2017. The event will be attended by more than 100 countries, international organizations and leading companies in the field of alternative and renewable energy.
