Tajikistan confirms its participation in Expo-2017

Yesterday the Kazakh delegation headed by the Commissioner of Expo-2017 - First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Rapil Zhoshybayev paid a working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan. The delegation held bilateral meetings with First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan D.Said, Minister of Economic Development and Trade N.Hekmatullozoda and Deputy Foreign Minister P.Davlatzoda, according to the Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan. During the meeting with Tajikistan First Deputy PM, Expo-2017 Commissioner briefed on the preparations for the international exhibition and the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev - partnership program "Green bridge". In turn, D. Said emphasized the high level of mutual understanding and brotherly relations existing between the two countries. On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Said confirmed Tajikistan's participation in Expo-2017 and assured that Dushanbe will be honorably represented at the exhibition in Astana. He also drew attention to the consonance of the main objectives of "Green bridge" partnership program with the Tajik leadership's initiatives on the use of environmentally friendly hydropower, environmental protection and transfer to new technologies. In addition, the sides discussed the implementation of joint projects in the field of mining and metallurgical industry, transport and logistics, as well as energy. It was noted the ongoing development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation in spite of the negative trends in the global economy. At the talks with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan P.Davlatzoda the parties discussed strengthening the Kazakh-Tajik relations. In particular, they focused on the next meeting of the Kazakh-Tajik intergovernmental commission devoted to the issues of trade and economic collaboration, as well as the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in Tajikistan.
