Tajikistan sees growth in its industrial production volume

Tajikistan's industrial enterprises manufactured products worth 36.3 billion somoni ($3.4 billion) from January through September 2024, up 15.3 percent year-on-year, Trend reports.

Data obtained from the country’s statistical agency shows that the highest growth accounted for the mining sector (35.9 percent), followed by processing (10 percent), electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning (0.6 percent), and water supply, sewage, waste management, and recycling (1.7 times).

The largest industrial centers of the country remained the Sughd region with 56.5 percent of total industrial production and the Khatlon region with a share of 23.4 percent.

The total number of industrial facilities that operated in Tajikistan in the reporting period was 3,692.

Of these facilities, 1,198 (32.5 percent) were located in the Sughd region, 864 (23.4 percent) in the Khatlon region, 794 (21.5 percent) in Dushanbe, 699 (18.9 percent) in the districts of republican subordination, and 137 (3.7 percent) in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.

To note, in 2023, industrial enterprises in Tajikistan manufactured products worth more than 46.8 billion somoni ($4.3 billion), which is 12 percent more than in 2022.
