Talks of Syrian opposition to be held in Astana next week - Y. Idrissov

ASTANA. KAZINFORM -The talks of the Syrian opposition will be held in Astana next week, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerlan Idrissov informed.

"It is expected that the talks of the Syrian opposition will be held in Astana next week," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan cites Yerlan Idrissov who told it at the 8 th Astana Economic Forum.

As earlier reported, representative of the Syrian opposition sent an official letter addressed to President Nursultan Nazarbayev requesting him to mediate in future negotiations on settlement of the crisis in Syria.

Y. Iddrisov noted that Kazakhstan supported the initiatives on restoring peace and stability in Syria. Thus, Kazakhstan was ready to consider establishment of a dialogue platform for the sides in the country and invite the authors of the request to Astana for holding the first unofficial and non-public opinions exchange.
