TB mortality dropped by 24%
ALMATY. KAZINFORM Tuberculosis (TB) mortality rate in Kazakhstan decreased by 24%, the National Tuberculosis Centre said.
As preliminary report finds, TB morbidity rate in 2013 dropped by 10% against 2012, death rate declined by 24.3%.
Kazakhstan ranks among 24 countries of the European region with highest level of multi-drug resistant TB. According to the World Health Organization, in 2012 a total of 8.6 mln of new TB cases, 1.43 mln of deaths were reported the worldwide.
