Kazakhstan grabs bronze at IIHF Ice Hockey Women's Asia Championships in China
The Kazakh women's national ice hockey team pocketed a bronze medal at the IIHF Ice Hockey Women's Asia Championships in Beijing, China, Kazinform News Agency reports.
According to the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, South Korea’s national team vied against the Kazakh team in the final bout.
Earlier defeated by China and Japan, both teams had two defeats in two matches ahead of the match.
The match ended with a score of 4-4. Then, Kazakhstan emerged victorious in the shootout, securing 3rd place at the competition.
Team China is set to compete against Japan’s national team for the gold medal.
The composition of Kazakhstan's national team for the upcoming Asian Ice Hockey Championships, scheduled to take place in Almaty between November 6-9, has been confirmed. Kazakh hockey players will face teams from Japan, South Korea and China.
It bears to remind that Almaty will for the first time in history host the Asian Ice Hockey Championships under the aegis of the International Ice Hockey Federation. The upcoming tournament will serve as preparatory competitions for the 2025 Asian Winter Games scheduled to take place in Harbin, China, on February 7-14.
