Tehran, ECO trade exceeds $10bn by Nov

The spokesperson of the International Relations and Trade Development Commission of Iran's House of Industry, Mining, and Trade announced that the volume of trade between Iran and ECO members has reached $10.2 billion in the first seven months of the Iranian calendar year (starting March 21), IRNA reports.

During the seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, just over 14.9 million metric tons (mt) of goods worth $10.1 billion were exchanged between Iran and 9 members of the ECO, which increased by 18% in weight and 4.5% in volume compared to the corresponding period of last year, Rohollah Latifi said on Wednesday.

During this period, Iran's export to ECO members was 12.3 million mt of non-oil goods worth $5.8 billion which is an increase of 23% in weight and 2.5% in value compared to the same period of the previous year.

Also in the said period, Iran's import has grown by 1.2% in weight and 7.3% in value with over 2.5 million mt worth $4.3 billion.

According to official statistics, Iran's trade balance with 9 ECO member states reached a positive $1.6 billion by exceeding exports.
