Abnormal frosts to grip N Kazakhstan

Abnormal frosty weather will grip North Kazakhstan region in the nearest days, following December 5 warm spell, Kazinform News Agency reports citing Kazhydromet.

Snowfall and blizzard will hit the region December 6 with black ice to form on the roads. Wind speed may reach 9-14 meters per second.

December 7, the east of the region will see light snow, black ice, ground blizzard with fog to descend in western and northern parts. Daytime temperatures will drop to -26-31°C, and to -29-34°C at night.

Friday, December 8, will be much colder. The mercury will dip to -28-33°C during daylight hours, and to -33-38°C at night. Northern areas of the region will be hit by a -41°C frost.

Emergencies services have already issued a storm alert.
