Temporary traffic restrictions imposed in the South and West Kazakhstan

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Temporary traffic restrictions will be imposed in the South and West Kazakhstan regions including Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, South Kazakhstan, Atyrau, Mangystau and partially Karaganda due to spring floods and mudslides.

The decision was taken in accordance with the instruction of the Minister of Transport and Communications Askar Zhumagaliyev, the press service of "Kazakhavtodor" Republican State Enterprise. Thus, according to the set road signs, from March 1 to April 20 of the current year vehicles with single axle load over eight tons are prohibited to move in the areas with low bearing capacity coatings. Limitation cannot be applied towards the vehicles engaged in international transportation of goods and passengers in accordance with international agreements; engaged in activities for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations, giving humanitarian aid; shipping medicines, food, passengers and luggage as well as vehicles engaged in road maintenance work. The document has been agreed with the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Emergency.
