Tenge devaluation not to lead to 25% increase in prices of all goods and services : G.Marchenko
ALMATY. February 4. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ ?Devaluation of tenge should not affect the increase of pensions and salaries?, Chairman of the National Bank Grigory Marchenko has said today in Almaty, Kazinform reports.
According to him, not all goods are imported to the country, there are many products, produced by national producers in Kazakhstan. ?The prices for domestic products should not grow more than 25%. The devaluation will not affect them?, he said.
The Head of the Bank said that the inflation in the country is decreasing. In January, 2009 the inflation was up to 0.3% that is the historic minimum for the period. Food prices increased by 0.2%, paid services ? by 1.2% and non-foods prices decreased by 0.4%.
In January, 2009 inflation was up to 8.7%. Foods prices increased by 9.3%, non-foods ? by 4.5%, paid services ? by 12.1%
