Tengizshevroil will celebrate its 20th anniversary

ATYRAU. March 12. KAZINFORM - This year "Tengizchevroil" LLP developing Tengiz and Korolev fields in Atyrau will mark the 20th anniversary of its founding.

The news has been announced by the director of the Eurasian department of the Chevron corporation Scott Davis.at the meeting with the Governor of the region Baktykozha Izmukhambetov.

According to Mr. Davis, the festivities will begin on April 3-4 in Astana, April 5 they will continue in Atyrau, and on 6 April they will be completed in Zhylyoy region in the Tengiz field.

It should be recalled that in 1993 the agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and "Chevron" Corporation on a joint venture named "Tengizshevroil" was the first document in the history of our country proving a great success in the international arena that opened the door to foreign investment.

Currently 24 million tons of oil are produced in Tengiz during a year. After the construction of the third generation plant the production volume will increase to 36 million tons a year. The share of "Chevron" in LLP makes 50%, of "KazMunaiGas" makes 20%, of "ExxonMobil" - 25% and "LukArco" amounts to 5%.
