Tennis Academy opened in Almaty
The Academy has one of the best complexes in Central Asia and the CIS. It has seven indoor and seven outdoor courts, a fitness center, a special store of tennis equipment, gymnastics halls, a sports bar, sauna and massage rooms.
The Almaty Mayor expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Academy for the establishment of such a complex on a private basis and for the contribution to development of tennis in Kazakhstan. "The Asian Games held in Kazakhstan promoted sport in the country and, particularly, in Almaty there are more people who have decided to go in for sports," A. Yessimov said.
The Tennis Academy was established in June of 2009 as a branch of a tennis academy in Munich ran by Nikola Pilić - the only one in Central Asia. "Tennis.kz" is an official international tennis academy in Kazakhstan and Central Asia and it is based in Almaty. Presently, there are more than one hundred young tennis players from 5 to 17 years old in the Academy. Besides, the academy offers private lessons to people willing to play tennis. The lessons are available for all age groups.
