President noted that the company is a stronghold of the industry, and steel mills and processing plants of the region are the pride of Kazakhstan. "The company's plants annually produce world-class products worth 450 billion tenge. 20 thousand people work in the company. Technological base is constantly updated. The copper plant produces 70,000 tons of high-quality copper cathodes per year. "Kazzinc" also bears a great social responsibility for the regions' development. A medical center, a kindergarten, a tennis center, an indoor pool, martial arts palace has been constructed at the expense of the company," said Nursultan Nazarbayev. The President of Kazakhstan emphasized high socio-economic development of East Kazakhstan region. "Last year in the region were created more than 20,000 jobs, built 3300 apartments, 14 hospitals, and 21 schools. There have been reconstructed 360 kilometers of roads. The region plans to open 5 more schools. This work will continue. A lot of activities have being carried out under Nurly Zhol program," he said. Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the development of industry in the region is one of the priorities of the state. "East Kazakhstan is a bright pearl of the country. The volume of gross output amounted to 1.5 trillion tenge, 60 per cent of which is the share of manufacturing. Volume of investments in the region has reached 345 billion tenge. The region allocates up to 2 billion tenge for support small and medium-sized businesses, and 3 billion tenge - for the creation industrial infrastructure. Government allocated 11 billion tenge for the implementation of "Employment-2020" program," said the President of Kazakhstan. Nursultan Nazarbayev also stressed the importance of maintaining stability, interethnic and interreligious accord. "Your region is a blessed land. It has given birth to and raised a number of great people. It is home to 100 ethnic groups of Kazakhstan. The region's Assembly includes 44 ethnic and cultural centers, 4 Friendship Houses, which experience is invaluable and studied all over the world including in the United Nations," said Nursultan Nazarbayev. Labor collective of "Kazzinc" expressed support of the new economic policy Nurly Zhol and the five institutional reforms initiated by the Head of State.
