The Golden Man and the Great Steppe exhibition opened in China
An international exhibition "The Golden Man and the Great Steppe" was officially opened today in the Tianjin Museum of the People's Republic of China. The event is organized by the National Museum of Kazakhstan with the support of the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Information together with the Center for Cultural Relics of China, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Those attending the opening ceremony were Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China Askar Shalkarbayev, Director of the National Museum of Kazakhstan Aibek Sydykov, Party Secretary and Director of the Chinese Cultural Relics Exchange Center Tan Ping, Director of the Tianjin Museum Yao Yang, as well as representatives of the Tianjin city administration, the Department of Culture and Tourism and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Tianjin Municipal People's Government.
The exhibition showcases 185 unique items from the collection of the Kazakhstan National Museum.
The exhibition is divided into three thematic sections, each dedicated to different aspects of the development of Kazakh material and spiritual culture. Among the exhibits are artifacts belonging to the early Iron Age, finds from the medieval cities of Kazakhstan located along the Great Silk Road, as well as traditional jewelry and decorative arts items.
The event will run until February 12, 2025, offering the residents and guests of Tianjin a unique opportunity to get acquainted with a rich cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.
