The Hague celebrates 20 years of diplomatic ties with Kazakhstan

The event arranged by the Kazakh Embassy was held at the Lucent Dance Theater.
Kazakhstan's Ambassador Mainura Murzamadiyeva congratulated the guests on the anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations. In her speech she touched upon the history of the Kazakh-Dutch relations and highlighted the priorities for further development of cooperation between the countries.
Mr Jaap Werner, Director of Europe Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, took the floor to talk about the friendly relations between the two countries, excellent inter-governmental contacts and growing volume of mutual trade.
"The Netherlands remains the largest foreign investor and economic partner of Kazakhstan, at the same time being able to keep the dialogue on the most important political topics. Among the priority sectors for cooperation are nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, oil and gas sector, agriculture, skating and biking. Besides, our countries have a lot in common. For instance, the national symbol of the Netherlands - tulip - comes from Kazakhstan," the Dutch diplomat noted.
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic ties there was presented a jubilee stamp as a sign of close friendship between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.
