The number of home burglaries reduced in Astana
Since the start of the year police officers have apprehended 37 criminal groups of thieves, including 13 groups engaged in home burglary and 8 groups which stole cars.
As they note in the agency, in prevention of home burglary a good effect is provided by concierge institute and implementation of a project "Safe yard" providing for installation of cameras, house intercom and other technical equipment in yards of residential buildings. Today in Astana security of residential houses involves about 200 concierges. House intercoms are installed in almost 6 000 entrances, and numeric locks - in 700. Within the framework of the project "Safe yard" video monitoring systems of the Center for operational administration of the metropolitan DIA have been installed on territories of 58 residential buildings, 40 yards are equipped with video cameras at the expense of cooperatives of flat owners.
It's worth noting that according to the statistics, every fifth burglary is committed in office rooms and institutions, each fourth burglary is committed from car interiors. The number of pilfering in trade and entertainment centers and public places increased. About 1500 burglaries are of a category of pickpocketing, 79% of them are committed in public transport 0 buses and shuttle buses. Stealing of construction materials, equipment, tools and cable from construction sites is also widespread. Large-scale thefts are committed mostly after bank operations or in currency exchange offices.
