Aibek Smadiyarov told the press briefing that all nationals of Kazakhstan in Israel remain calm, cooperate with Kazakhstani diplomats in provision of information and observe safety measures.

“To date, there is no information about the citizens of Kazakhstan killed, injured or taken hostage,” Smadiyarov said.

Earlier it was reported that over 400 Kazakhstanis might stay in Israel without consular registration.

Smadiyarov added that the Kazakh Embassy together with Air Astana company are making the lists of those citizens willing to return to Kazakhstan. In his words, 118 Kazakhstanis expressed their desire to return to their homeland.

Smadiyarov added that in the past two days the Kazakh Embassy in Tel Aviv had received over 500 calls via hotline launched for the Kazakhstani nationals staying in the territory of Israel and their relatives in Kazakhstan.

He revealed that there are 77 people on consular register on the Kazakh Embassy in Israel, including the staff of the embassy and members of their families. Five Kazakhstani students pursue their degrees at Israeli universities and some 30 Kazakhstanis are doing internships at Israeli healthcare facilities.

Kazakhstani diplomats in Tel Aviv are in constant touch with our nationals in Israel, he added.
