Thermal modernization of houses saves 30% of energy

ASTANA. August 3. KAZINFORM Energy audit will be conducted in houses participating in the Housing and Utilities Sector Modernization Program starting from 2014, the press service of the Agency for Construction, Housing and Utilities reports.

According to, energy audit will be carried out twice - before and after repair works to assess energy efficiency and monitor thermo-technical characteristics.

Local executive authorities will carry out another energy audit after completion of repair works in a house and end of the heating season to assess energy efficiency of the repair, the Agency informs.

It is worth noting that the repair works provided by the Program include thermal modernization of the housing and utility infrastructure and are a part of the state policy on energy conservation. 

Thermal modernization includes works on improvement of thermo-technical characteristics by means of winterizing floors, walls and roofs of houses. Besides, the works include installation of a heating energy metering device and automated system of heat consumption regulation. 

As the Agency reports, minor repairs with elements of thermal modernization are expected to results in heat consumption savings up to 10%, capital repair - up to 30%.

It is worth noting that improvement of thermo-technical characteristics, installation of heat energy metering devices and automated system of heat consumption regulation will become one of the conditions for repair of the condominium property and promote implementation of the state policy on energy conservation.
