Three anthrax cases detected in Karaganda region, one in critical condition
Three anthrax cases were confirmed by PCR tests in Topar village in Karaganda region, Kazinform Agency reports. The PCR test results of one more patient are pending as she was admitted later. As it turned out, all the infected people are members of one family.
As of now, four patients are staying in the hospital, with one in critical condition, the regional healthcare department said in a statement.
Two more people remain under the observation of doctors. 30 more people who have been in contact with infected persons were traced, the press service of the akimat of Karaganda region reports.
The meat of the slaughtered calf was withdrawn and sealed and will be disposed of according to the veterinary legislation. All the necessary sanitary and veterinary antiepizootic, epidemiological control measures were taken in the village.
As earlier reported, the quarantine was imposed in Topar.
