Three people killed in two-vehicle crash in Almaty region
A fatal accident involving a Kia Optima vehicle and a Volvo FH truck occurred on the Almaty - Bishkek highway in the Almaty region, Kazinform News Agency reports.
According to the regional police department, a collision involving the Kia Optima vehicle and the Volvo FH truck took place on the 136th kilometer of the Almaty-Bishkek highway at 01:00 pm on December 10. According to preliminary data, the Kia Optima driver, 40, crossed into the oncoming traffic strip and rammed into the Volvo FH truck.
“As a result of the accident, the car driver and two of his passengers died at the scene. Another passenger was taken to the nearest hospital with various injuries. The police officers have initiated a criminal investigation into the road accident,” the press service of the police department stated.
Earlier it was reported that four people were killed in a road accident on the Atyrau-Uralsk highway. There was also a collision of two cars, which resulted in the death of three people on the 36th kilometer of the Talgar-Esik highway in the Almaty region.
