"The Astana Economic Forum was established as a response to the global financial crisis in 2008. The crisis has an impact on 80% of the world economy, and the global economy is still struggling to overcome the consequences," N. Nazarbayev told.
The President also noted that many countries remained stagnant in terms of their economic development because of the crisis of 2008. Moreover, many experts think that the crisis of 2008 was systematic, aperiodic and it will end when the main cause of its emergence is addressed - deep disbalance on the currency market in particular.
"Many people think that turbulence of the sector is a hidden form of the beginning of the next stage of the crisis. It translates from the financial sphere to currency wars, illegal sanctions and political wars hitting many world countries. The crisis spreading all over the Middle East - Syria, Afghanistan, Lebanon is also a consequence. It aggravates the relations of the West and the East, the USA and NATO against Russia and China. What if the crisis we are all talking about now will get from the hidden form to the open form of the hyper crisis? The economic experts could answer this question. This is why we hold international forums including the Astana Economic Forum. We remember that politicians and scientists used to say that they missed the last crisis. Nobody expected that crisis. Now we have think about preventing any forms of it in the future. Now it is our responsibility to prevent our countries from being hit by the crisis," N. Nazarbayev told.
