Togyz kumalak tournament to be held in Germany

ASTANA. March 1. KAZINFORM The Kazakh Embassy in German together with the representatives of the German society summed up results of the VII Asian Games on February 28. Kazakh Ambassador Nurlan Onzhanov informed the guests about the results of the Games, in particular, about the successful performance of the Kazakh sportsmen.

Eurosport TV channel's commentator Hendryk Schamberger - five-time champion of Germany in figure skating noted that the Asian Games opening coverage demonstrated the great preparedness of Kazakhstan for the Games.

According to him, holding of sports events of such a level, reconstruction of sports centers and construction of sports facilities are just a small part of the whole process. "It is more difficult to provide Kazakhstani sportsmen with a training base after the Games of such a level," the German commentator said. In this regard, he called on Kazakhstan to use this opportunity for promotion of sport and healthy lifestyle among the people of Kazakhstan.

Togyz kumalak Kazakh champion Yuri Nold, who lives in Bavaria, demonstrated the guests the way the national game is played. The game drew great attention. In this regard, the decision on holding the Togyz kumalak tournament within the celebration of the 20^th anniversary f Kazakhstan's independence in Germany was made.
