Tokayev expresses condolences to Azerbaijan’s President Aliyev over plane crash
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a letter of condolences to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
Tokayev was saddened by the tragic news about the deaths of passengers and crew members of the Baku-Grozny plane that crashed today near Aktau, Mangistau region.
Sharing the bitterness of the irreparable loss, I express sincere condolences to You, family members and close ones of those died as well as the entire people of Azerbaijan. Upon my instruction, the government of Kazakhstan set up the state commission to take necessary measures as part of the special operation as well as will further provide necessary assistance to the Azerbaijani side, reads the letter.
The Azerbaijan Airlines plane, which was operating a flight en route Baku-Grozny, crashed today morning near Kazakhstan's Aktau city. 69 people including 5 crew members were onboard.
As was reported, President Tokayev tasked to set up a state commission in connection with the plane crash.
Earlier, Kazinform News Agency presented the list of passengers onboard the crashed plane.
