Tokayev greets Russian President Putin at Astana airport
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, who arrived in Kazakhstan for a state visit, at the airport of Astana, Akorda reports.
A guard of honor was lined up in honor of the distinguished guest at the airport. As a sign of sincere friendship between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Russia, children, waving the flags of the two nations, welcomed President Vladimir Putin and the official delegation members as well as recited poems.
Later, professional artist Assel Sabyrzhankyzy (Assol) presented the heads of state her painting, which she started painting from the moment Vladimir Putin’s departure to Astana. The artist invited both leaders to take part in writing the canvas.
The painting is to be gifted to Russian leader Putin after he completes his visit.
