Tokayev holds meeting with CMA CGM Group CEO Rodolphe Saadé
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Rodolphe Saadé, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the CMA CGM Group, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
President Tokayev pointed out that Kazakhstan plays a key role in development of transit routes East – West, North – South due to its geographic location. Active work with major world companies is underway to attract investments in order to boost cargo transportation.
The Kazakh leader expressed interest in further strengthening of long-term cooperation with CMA CGM, which has its regional headquarter located in Almaty.
During the meeting, special attention was placed to the interaction within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, attraction of investment in the logistics infrastructure of the Atyrau sea port as well as construction of container ships for ports in the Caspian Sea.
Earlier it was reported that the Kazakh and French Presidents held talks in an extended format.
It was reported that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Emmanuel Macron made a joint statement at a press conference.
The President of Kazakhstan arrived in France for a state visit on November 4.
