Tokayev meets Draper Fisher Jurvetson co-founder Tim Darper

Kazakh Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met Tim Darper, of Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Draper University, Kazinform Agency cites Akorda. 

The Kazakh President thanked Tim Darper for his active participation and impressive speech at the Digital Bridge International Forum. He welcomed the initiative to shoot one of the episodes of the Meet the Drapers reality show in Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the issues of development of venture capital and startups industry as well as plans and promising areas for further cooperation were discussed.

Tim Darper noted that his company has a rich experience in the development of venture capital. He stressed that the Central Asian region, especially Kazakhstan, is of great interest to Draper Fisher Jurvetson.

Tokayev drew attention that a solid institutional legal and financial framework to establish a venture capital market is being formed in Kazakhstan. The county creates wide opportunities for international venture funds such as Draper Fisher Jurvetson to enter the market.
