Tokayev meets with Chinese Premier Li Qiang
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Premier of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang, Kazinform Agency reports.
The meeting focused on the state and prospects of the development of Kazakhstani-Chinese all-round strategic partnership. Special attention was attached to the practical realization of the agreements reached during the meeting of the Kazakh leader with the Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping.
The Kazakh President noted that he is witnessing rapid social and economic development of China with great excitement.
The Chinese government effectively addresses major tasks ensuring sustainable economy in conditions of the global turmoil. We commend your country’s considerable contribution to stable development of the entire global economy. Kazakhstan traditionally attaches great importance to the strengthening of friendship ties, kind neighborliness, and all-round strategic cooperation with China. Kazakhstan was and is the reliable strategic partner and good neighbor of China. The Kazakh-Chinese relations are developing rapidly due to the active political dialogue at the high level as well as coordinated work of the two governments of the countries, said Tokayev.
The Kazakh Head of State said that today he held very productive talks with Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping, reaching concrete agreements to further strengthen Kazakh-Chinese multifaceted relations.
Within my visit nine documents were signed at the level of governments and over 20 agreements between businesses and different bodies of the two countries. As part of the Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China, I’d like to note the high importance of agreements on mutual visa-free regime, development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, agreements on energy cooperation, said the Kazakh President.
For his part, Li Qiang noted the importance of the visit of Tokayev to China to further strengthen bilateral ties.
The peoples of Kazakhstan and China enjoy centuries-old friendship… Following your meeting with Chairman Xi the key agreements serving as a landmark for opening a new page of the golden 30 years of relations between our countries. The Chinese side is ready together with their colleagues to engage in practical realization of agreements reached at the high level, strengthen centuries-old ties of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, said Li Qiang.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan and China had signed documents worth 16.54 billion US dollars.
