Tokayev meets with Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan thanked Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his personal participation in the SCO summit set to take place in the Kazakh capital and the support for Kazakhstan’s global initiatives, Akorda reports.
The Head of State of Kazakhstan called Qatar one of the closest partners of Kazakhstan with the shared goals and aspirations.
I’d like to highlight our commitment to close relations with your country. I have fond memories of my visit to Doha, which was a big event in terms of providing a serious impetus to the promotion of bilateral cooperation. We took our relations to the strategic partnership level. During my visit, the key documents were signed. I believe that the Kazakh government will do everything possible for successful implementation of the agreements, said the President.
In his turn, Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said that it was a great honor for him to visit Astana again and attend the SCO summit.
I still remember your important visit to Doha. You mentioned that we took our relations to the strategic level, that I am proud of. Our countries are to do much work, including in enhancing economic and investment ties, said the Qatari Amir.
The talks focused on prospects for greater bilateral ties in trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian, transport and logistics, agricultural, energy spheres as well as education, health, and telecommunication. Special attention was placed on the current issues of regional and international agenda.
