Tokayev receives E Kazakhstan region governor
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received governor of East Kazakhstan region Yermek Kosherbayev, during which the former was informed about the outcomes of the social and economic development of the region in 11 months of this year, Kazinform News Agency reports.
According to the information presented to the President, the gross regional product of East Kazakhstan region is expected to stand at KZT4.4trl this year.
The region accounts for 42 projects worth KZT1.1trl of the nationwide pool of investment projects.
This year, eight projects for KZT77bn are underway. 37 projects with the total investments of KZT236.4bn are to be carried out in the region’s agro-industrial complex.
East Kazakhstan is the first region in the country to introduce sunflower seeds deep processing to produce four thousand tons of liquid lecithin per year. The comfortable climate for developing SMEs is being created as projects received support to the tune of KZT22bn.
The President was also briefed that the year 2024 was declared as the Year of Road in East Kazakhstan region. Within the year, it is expected to double the budget for road repairing and construction with the total of 600km of roads and streets are to be repaired.
Upon the instruction of the President, restoration works were carried out in the CHP in Ridder, six boilers were repaired.
Special attention was attached to the creation of new Markakol and Katonkaragai border regions.
Following the meeting, Tokayev stressed the importance of increasing the standard of living of the region’s population and set a number of tasks regarding further social and economic development of East Kazakhstan region.
