During the talks with the CEO of Lactalis Group Emmanuel Besnier, Tokayev noted that the company is among the first French enterprises to enter the Kazakhstani market 20 years ago. Today, the company operates several plants and dairy farms.

As Tokayev said, amid the global food security risks the agro-industrial and food production cooperation becomes critical. To this end, Kazakhstan encourages attraction of investments in agricultural deep processing.

Tokayev also met with Christiane Wijsen, President of Boehringer Ingelheim France, during which he pointed out the importance of the agreement reached between the domestic holding QazBioPharm and France’s Boehringer Ingelheim on transfer of technology, enabling to establish production of vaccines against foot-and-mouth disease in Kazakhstan.

According to the Head of State, veterinary welfare plays an important role in ensuring food security.

As part of the meeting with Stéphane Layani, CEO of Semmaris, Tokayev was informed about the realization of the joint project on the establishment of a major agro-processing hub in Almaty region. The facility is set to be commissioned in 2025.
