Tokayev urged business community to take social responsibility

ASTANA. March 18. KAZINFORM Workshop on ?Legislative framework of raising social responsibility of the business community: problems and solutions? has been held today under the chairmanship of Senate Speaker Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Senate.

Deputies of the Senate, representatives of public agencies, national companies, business communities, international and non-governmental organizations took part in the workshop, organized by the Committee of Social and Cultural Development. It is important to exchange opinions on this subject in order to create the legislative basis ensuring responsibility of the business community, said the Speaker. He urged the business community and public organization to assist the Government in carrying through social support of the population. Tokayev stated that the government aid to the domestic enterpreneurs was supposed to create firm platform for extensive partnership between the government and private businesses. For today the legislative bases of social responsibility are regulated by the only document ? the Concessions Law. The Speaker also reminded of the all-national objectives of the business community, particularly population employment. Social and labor relations are the main aspects where the responsibility of the business community must be raised, said Kazakh Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Gulshara Abdykalikova. She urged to create a legislative framework for the development of social partnership. Chairman of the Committee of Social and Cultural Development Akhan Bizhanov underlined the importance of exchanged opinions and recomendations for enhancement of common social responsibility.
