Toyota and Peugeot will organize car manufacturing in Kazakhstan
The most striking result of the Government in this direction in the first half-year is to attract the world's two automakers - Toyota and Peugeot.
The world famous company Toyota Motor Corporation is planning assembly of Fortuner cars in Kostanai. The first car will be off the assembly line in the spring of 2014. This will be the first in Kazakhstan full completely knocked down assembly of vehicles. In the first phase it is scheduled to produce about 3 thousand cars. At present, Toyota is performing mechanical installation.
Working through investment initiatives is a long enough period of time, and the work on attracting Toyota to Kazakhstan's market has been carried out for more than two years.
The next initiative is invitation to the Kazakhstan's market another giant automotive industry - Peugeot Citroën. Peugeot Citroën this year already intends to commence assembly of passenger cars and commercial vehicles with Disassembled Knock Down technology.
In the first phase of the project will include a range of Peugeot 301, Peugeot 308, Peugeot 508 and Peugeot Partner. The average volume of automobiles of the brand is expected to reach 4 thousand units per year. The project will create 150 new jobs in Kazakhstan. Commercial launch of the project is scheduled for September 2013.
Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of cooperating with more than 400 investors for projects worth more than $ 15.7 billion
Over the past 4 years in Kazakhstan have been attracted nearly 50% of the gross FDI inflows for all the years of independence. From 1993 to 2012 the total volume of incoming FDI totaled $ 171.2 billion, of which $ 81.6 billion have been raised from 2009 to 2012.
