TRACECA offers improved operation of ferries in the Black and Caspian Seas
According to the report, the development of the shortest transport links between the Baltic and the Black Sea to the example of container- piggyback train called "Viking" on the route "Illichevsk - Klaipeda" and its further extension to the countries of the South Caucasus and Central Asia is a concrete example of a promising project, which in turn presupposes an active process of its development.
This applies to the establishment of international logistics centers in each country of TRACECA and must play a positive role in the development of the national economy in terms of the direct and indirect costs of transportation and distribution of goods, and last but not least, in implementation of the export potential of each country.
"This project is being coordinated with the participating countries of TRACECA», the statement reads.
NOTE: TRACECA is an international program of cooperation in the field of transport between the EU and its partner countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. The organization has a permanent secretariat in Baku.
Currently, the TRACECA member countries are Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Iran.
