Trade turnover b/w Kazakhstan and CU falls to $ 9 billion
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the countries of the Customs Union in the first half of 2014 decreased to USD 9 billion due to lower economic growth in Russian Federation, this has been reported today by the chairman of the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy Alikhan Smailov.
"In general, Kazakhstan and Customs Union's trade turnover decreased to USD 9 billion due to lower economic growth in Russian Federation. Foreign trade turnover with the CU in January-June 2014 decreased by 23% compared with the first six months of the last year ", announced data A.Smailov at a briefing in Central Communications Service. He said that the foreign trade turnover with the CU is only 15% amid Kazakhstan's total foreign trade turnover with all countries. "We have 6 product groups account for 91% of total imports from the CU. These groups include food products, mineral products - mainly oil and oil products, chemical products, wood and paper, metal products, machinery, equipment and vehicles", said A.Smailov.
