Trade turnover between N Kazakhstan and Russia’s regions hit USD 480 mln

The trade turnover between North Kazakhstan and Russia’s regions reached 480 million US dollars, 3.5% up, Kazinform News Agency cites Jibek Joly TV Channel.

A couple of years ago a special economic zone Kyzylzhar was set up in Petropavlovsk. For example, Russian investors plan to launch the production of building materials, transportation equipment and pipes. A confectionary will soon be commissioned at the special economic zone to generate 400 jobs.

According to deputy head of the entrepreneurship and industrial and innovation development department Azamat Shaimerdenov, the region attracts new large anchor investors to locate their productions there and create new workplaces, also attracts new transfer of technologies, and new types of products.

As earlier reported, for the first time ever, Kazakhstan joined Russia's top five trading partners with commodity turnover reaching 27 billion US dollars in 2023.
