Traffic safety week started in Astana
In accordance with the Resolution of the UN General Assembly d.d. October 25, 2005, the third Sunday of November is the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. In this connection, Astana city Department of internal affairs holds a large-scale campaign, including various events aimed at providing of traffic safety and prevention of road traffic trauma.
“In the course of this campaign there will be different events with the participation of students, public organizations, school and preschool institutions, professional sportsmen and bikers. Throughout the week a campaign “Memory parkway” with trees planting will be organized, as well as a contest “The best driving school”, a campaign “Driver, save my life!” in school and preschool institutions, and a contest “Auto lady” among female drivers”, - Bauyrzhan Sholanov, deputy head of the metropolitan Administrative police department, told at the press conference. In addition, a campaign “Become more noticeable” will be held at schools together with young traffic inspectors - children will receive reflective bracelets and backpack stickers. It’s worth noting that over 10 months of the current year, more than 186 000 violations of the Driving regulations were detected. In addition, over this period over 500 road-traffic accidents happened, where 55 people died and about 190 people got injuries.
