Transport Minister promises to launch flights from Petropavlovsk to Turkistan

During his working trip to the North Kazakhstan region, Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev promised to consider an issue of launching the flights from Petropavlovsk to Turkistan, Kazinform News Agency reports.

We suppose this will be a subsidized flight and probably will be launched in the summer period, said Karabayev.

The residents of the region now fly only to two destinations from Petropavlovsk - Astana and Almaty cities. Last July, the Airport of Petropavlovsk was transferred to trust management  for 2.8 billion tenge for a five-year period with a purchase option. New managing director of LLP Kyzylzhar International Airport Valikhan Jilisbayev assured to develop the airport and launch international flights.
