"The ongoing problem of tuberculosis is still high on the agenda for Kazakhstan. We are trying to decrease the numbers and we've been quite successful lately. It is no stretch to say the current epidemiological situation is stable. The tuberculosis death rate has plunged by 24.3% over the past three years," she said.

In her words, the Kazakh Healthcare Ministry has developed a national plan on tuberculosis. "We are planning to submit it for the Government's approval in the nearest future," Minister Kairbekova added.
