Turkistan region attracts record investments in 2024
In 11 months of 2024, a record of 1,064.7 billion tenge worth of investments were funneled in Turkistan region, a 25.5% year-on-year increase, Kazinform News Agency reports.
As the region’s administration informed, the volume of foreign direct investments has stood at 685.1 million US dollars, exceeding the annual plan by 1.5 times, since the start of the year. During the October investment forum in Turkistan, 35 memorandums worth 301 billion tenge were signed with 127 foreign companies.
56 investment projects worth 134.1 billion tenge were slated for implementation this year. In 11 months, 41 projects worth 99.4 billion tenge were commissioned, creating 1,659 jobs.
According to the region’s administration, a pool of 145 investment projects to the tune of 2.5 trillion tenge was established to boost economic development, focusing on the development of production and deep processing of agricultural products.
The projects’ main areas include industry, energy, agrobusiness and tourism. If completed, the projects would allow to create 20,000 jobs and increase budget revenues by 100 billion tenge.
As reported earlier, investments in Kazakhstan’s economy surpassed 15 trillion tenge.
