Turkey's highest state award presented to Nursultan Nazarbayev

ARA. October 22. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has been awarded with Turkey's highest state award.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul highly appraised the Kazakh President's contribution to development of bilateral relations and the Turkic world development.

"We have recently met at the summit in Azerbaijan, where N.Nazarbayev's initiative on creation of the Turkic Council and Turkic Academy was backed. This brings together the Turkic world, and it is Kazakhstan President's merit. We consider him a leader of the Turkic world", Abdullah Gul said at the press conference.

He noted that the monument to first President of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was opened in Astana, and Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the opening ceremony.

"It makes us happy", he added, emphasizing that it is the first memorial to the Father of the Turkish Nation in Central Asia.
