Turkey supports Kazakhstan's ambition to accede to WTO and EXPO event in Astana

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared today that his country fully supports Kazakhstan's wish to enter the World Trade Organization (WTO).

"I hope that the talks on Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO will be rounded off in the nearest future. We will always support our brothers from Kazakhstan in this process," President Erdoğan said following the top-level session of the Strategic Cooperation Council in Astana. The Turkish President added that Kazakhstan is one of the world's 50 most developed countries, but strives to join the world's 30 most competitive economies. In his words, the Kazakhstan-2050 Development Strategy and the new economic policy "Nurly Zhol - Path to the Future" are of paramount importance in this respect. The Turkish leader also pointed out the importance of holding the International specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 in Kazakhstan and confirmed his country's participation in the grandiose event. "In 2017, Astana will host the International exhibition EXPO and Turkey plans to participate. I am convinced that Kazakhstan will greatly benefit from the EXPO 2017 event," he said. In conclusion, President Erdoğan extended invitation to Kazakhstan to take part in the EXPO-2016 in Antalya.
