Turkish President A. Gul: Our joint work must be based on OSCE commitments
ASTANA. December 2. KAZINFORM /Arailym Temirgaliyeva/ "It is indeed a great pleasure to take part in the distinguished forum under the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This OSCE Summit has been long in coming. I congratulate President Nazarbayev for this visionary chairmanship making it a rarity", President of Turkey Abdulla Gul said it taking the floor at the plenary session at the Astana OSCE Summit today.
"It is a unique opportunity to reiterate our common will, to overcome our differences and work together in solidarity. This joint work must be based on the OSCE commitments", the Turkish President noted.
"In Istanbul in 1999 we reaffirmed the OSCE as a primary organization for the peaceful settlement of the disputes. Despite the ongoing efforts the protracted conflicts remain unresolved undermining the OSCE's credibility", he pointed out and added that on its part Turkey would continue to contribute to resolution of the conflicts in Moldova, Azerbaijan and Georgia on the basis of their unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty.
