Turkistan officially becomes tourism capital of Turkic countries

This year the Organization of Turkic Countries supported the initiative to declare the city of Turkistan, Kazakhstan, the tourism capital of Turkic countries 2024, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Governor Darkhan Satybaldy said the Head of State tasked to give Turkistan a special status and noted importance of the declaration signed at the VIII informal summit of the Council to name Turkistan the spiritual capital of the Turkic world.

The Shamakhi-tourism capita of the Turkic world 2023 initiative came to an end today in Azerbaijan. Turkistan region delegation took part in the event to get official status.

The city of Turkistan with 1,500 years of history was a centre of science, literature, culture, trade along the Great Silk Road.
