TurkPA to develop common Turkic alphabet in 2012
KU. December 15. KAZINFORM /Berik Khamidov/ Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries (TurkPA) is planning to develop a bill on Turkic language and alphabet, Ramil Hasanov, TurkPA Secretary General told a press conference on Thursday.
"Formation of a common Turkic language and alphabet based on the views of parliamentarians of Turkic-speaking countries should be done in the form of a bill," he said.
According to him, if before June next year the TurkPA commissions submit their proposals in the form of a single document, the issue may be included in the agenda of the Assembly's session in 2012 in Bishkek.
