Twentieth Independence Anniversary Declaration - Declaration of Succeeded Statehood, Senate Speaker

"The peculiarity of this day is that the first inauguration of the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev took place 20 years ago on December 10, 1991. Today for the second time in the history of our Parliament we intend to adopt the Independence Declaration.

We should be proud of the fact that we are both witnesses and participants of the historic events happened in our country for the past 20 years. In this regard an idea came to adopt the document to determine the country's achievements for the past 20 years - the Twentieth Independence Anniversary Declaration of Kazakhstan.

The public-spirited Declaration will serve primarily the educational purposes. This political legal document meant for our contemporaries and future generations features the key achievements of Kazakhstan for the past 20 years.

This unique document features the invaluable role of the First President of Kazakhstan -Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev on the way of building the Kazakh nationhood.

The Declaration's fundamental pillar is the main gains of Kazakhstan achieved for the years of independence, the role and significance of the Constitution.

Congratulating the deputies and guests on the adoption of the Declaration, he also highlighted that the first Declaration adopted in 1991 was the plan for the future. And today's Declaration is the Declaration of Statehood for it reflects impressing accomplishments of Kazakhstan for 20 years.

This political and legal document reflects the main stages of the country's development and state-building since 1991, highlighting the importance of the development course chosen by the country, which is now known as the Kazakhstan path. In addition, the Declaration calls on future generations to preserve and strengthen independence with its core values of freedom, unity, and stability.
