Typhoon Bopha costs 342 mln USD in damage to Philippines

The agriculture sector incurred the biggest damage worth 9.5 billion pesos (232.05 million U.S. dollars), followed by infrastructure at 4.5 billion pesos (109.92 million pesos), the agency said.

NDRRMC said that 19 bridges and nine roads in the typhoon-hit areas were still not passable, while 37 places and six areas were still experiencing power and water interruptions, respectively, Xinhua informs.

"Communication was restored in Compostella Valley and only three areas in Davao Oriental are presently having interrupted communication," it added.

Death toll due to the weather disturbance stood at 740, while missing persons remained at 890.
