U.S. Ambassador visits Pavlodar region

PAVLODAR. April 16. KAZINFORM Akim of Pavlodar region Yerlan Aryn met with U.S. Ambassador Kenneth Fairfax, who arrived in Pavlodar region on Monday.

The Governor told about the region's economic development, successful implementation of the State Program of Forced Industrial Innovative Development, big projects in energy, train cars building, cooperation with the border regions of Russia in economy, business, education and culture.

The American diplomat said it's his first visit to Pavlodar region. "I would like to learn more about the economy of Pavlodar in order to give information to U.S. companies interested in developing business cooperation with the Kazakhstanis. There are many areas in which Pavlodar may be interesting for American business; there are opportunities to improve the business climate. The Governor told me about a special free zone for the development of chemical industry, favorable terms offered to investors," Fairfax told reporters.

The Ambassador noted that his visit consists of two parts. The cultural part is a concert of American modern dance group, "Sean Curran Company." He expressed the hope that the Pavlodar residents will be interested in this concert.

"I am interested to learn about the educational system in your region, opportunities for cooperation in the development of science. I will monitor this issue in the future to know what scientific communication can be established between our countries and regions," Kenneth Fairfax noted.
